We are happy to announce that this spring we were able to grant over $77,000 from our field of interest and Foundation funds to our area nonprofits! As usual, funding priority was given to programs and projects that address the needs of the community, reach a broad population, and will likely yield substantial results. The final dollars are in, and it's official: this year's Give Local 757 more than doubled the 2014 event's results! This year, the Southeast Virginia, Peninsula, and Suffolk Community Foundations teamed up to host the Second Annual Give Local 757 on May 5th & 6th. Give Local 757 is officially the largest, single-day, charitable crowdfunding event to date to be hosted in our region. We are fortunate to be able to sponsor two very important philanthropy events in our community this month: the P.I.T. Foundation's Portsmouth Invitational Tournament and the Portsmouth Service League's First Citizen of Portsmouth banquet. Foundation Founder and Current CEO Featured in Suffolk River Heritage’s Newest Publication

In the fall of 2013, SEVACF funded a grant request made by the Suffolk River Heritage, Inc. to assist in the production of their third publication, Truckin' on the Western Branch, a cultural history of Churchland, West Norfolk, Western Branch, and Bowers Hill.
