Something NEW is on the horizon!

We are updating our application process, and we are looking forward to serving the nonprofits of our community even better.

Apply for a Grant

Before applying, please confirm your eligibility by answering the following statements.

  1. Our organization is classified as a charitable non-profit under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code, or as part of a governmental body (such as a school or parks department).
  2. Our nonprofit organization provides programming to families/children/individuals in Chesapeake and/or Portsmouth, Virginia.  (What does this mean?  Under these community grant programs, SEVACF issues grants exclusively to non-profit organizations that provide programming to Chesapeake and/or Portsmouth residents.)
  3. The grant proposal does not fall into one of the following categories: debt reduction, general/administrative expenses, travel expenses for individuals or groups, political organization or activity, annual appeals or membership contributions, or capital and endowment building, unless matching funds are generated within the particular organization.

If you answered “No” to any of the guidelines above, your organization may not be eligible to apply. Please email us at info@sevacf.org to schedule a time to discuss before applying.
